GETTING TO SCHOOL
We would encourage all children to walk to school – there are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. We do also have bike racks for those children coming to school on their bikes and scooters. If you need to travel by car, please drive with care and park wisely.
At Norbury there is a Walking Bus Scheme. The ‘bus stop’ will be located at Tesco, Station Road, Harrow, HA1 2TU.
Two members of staff will be at the bus stop from 8.25am and the walking bus will be leaving promptly at 8.30am. It is extremely important that you are on time otherwise the bus will leave without you! Please contact the School office for more information.
Walking Home From School
If parents/carers wish their child to be allowed to walk home from school alone they will need to send a written and signed letter to the school giving their permission.
If your child is unwell or not coming to school for any reason, you MUST notify the school. You can either write a note (if you know your child is to be off), telephone the absence line on
020 8863 8769
The beginning of the school day is a very important time; it allows children to settle into their routine and is a crucial component of their learning. It is therefore vital that the children arrive on time and are ready to start their learning.
At the end of the school day it is important that the children are collected promptly as many children find it upsetting to be left waiting not knowing when they will be collected.
The arrangements are:
•Any child arriving late to school will miss their morning play
•Children who are not collected promptly at the end of the day will be supervised by a member of staff in ICT Suite.
•Parents arriving late to collect their children from school will need to come to the School Office to collect them.
•A charge will be made for supervising any child who is not collected within 15 minutes of the usual collection time (3.10pm for the Infant School and 3.15pm for the Junior School); this will be £5 per 15 minutes.
•Any charges will need to be paid on the day they are incurred.
We regret that it is necessary for us to implement these arrangements and thank you for your support in this matter
