Universal Free Meals
All pupils in Reception, year 1 and year 2 will be able to receive a school meal at no cost to the parent/carer. This does not depend on your household income or whether you receive any benefits – every child in these classes is eligible to take up the offer. Parents of Reception, year 1 and year 2 pupils are required to select their child’s meal requirements via ParentPay.
If you are on benefits please still complete an application form for Free School Meals as this allows our school additional funding.
Why apply for Free School Meals??
It is estimated that £50m of Pupil Premium is left unclaimed in the London region as parents do not check for eligibility.
For every child that is eligible for free school meals, as long as the parent completes the application, the school will receive up to an additional £1320 to spend on that child’s learning.
It is also important to encourage parents with children who already meet the universal free school meal requirements (Key Stage 1 students) to complete the free school meals application to check for eligibility. This will also mean the school receives up to an extra £1320 for that child.
All you need to do is register at www.fsm.lgfl.net it’s that easy. You will get an instant answer and the school will also be informed straight away.
If you already apply for Free School Meals, please can we ask you to register with www.fsm.lgfl.net now and also in the future.
If you need help with this you can make an appointment to see one of our Community Ambassadors.
Packed Lunch
Children may bring their own packed lunch; these must be provided in a suitable container, with no glass bottles. Packed lunches should not contain unhealthy items such as fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate.
We are a ‘Nut Free’ school due to allergies so no items containing nuts should be in your child’s lunchbox. The school once again requests that you do not pack any foods with nuts or seeds in your child’s lunchbox (e.g peanut butter, sesame seeds and sunflowers seeds).
We would like packed lunches to be as healthy as possible.
