Norbury is a vibrant, welcoming community school where ‘A World in a School, Learning Together’ is at our core. Learning behaviour is at the heart of Norbury, and we are striving to coach, learn and develop further Building Learning Power skills and maintain our high standards under the three R’s: Rights, Respect and Responsibility which runs through the Unicef Rights of a Child.
Communication skills are crucial in our community and we focus greatly on early phonics, reading and writing skills in order for our pupils to truly reach their potential. Alongside this, we also nurture our learners to be independent learners and use the skills within the Four R’s of learning power: Reciprocity, Reflectiveness, Resilience, and Resourcefulness.
We are all learners at Norbury, from the youngest child to the oldest adult. Pupils, staff and Governors persistently strive to achieve our best. We have an active Parent Council for Learning which meets to discuss and share strategies on learning both within school and beyond.
I am very proud to be the Headteacher at Norbury and our School Development Plan and Annual Plan clearly shows we are on a very important learning journey.
