Welcome to Norbury School where we are a World in a School learning together with over 54 different languages and over 50 countries represented at our dynamic welcoming school.
At Norbury Safeguarding and the Unicef Rights of the Child are central to all we do. We are an award winning Level 2 UNICEF School and are proud of our Respect, Responsibility and Rights ethos. Being at Norbury will challenge, motivate and develop the BEST from your child, in a nurturing, coaching and respectful environment.
Learners at Norbury are linguists with over 80% speaking English as an additional language. This is a strength within our school. We are an Assessment and Research school with the Institute of Education, University College London, part of a whole London wide network of schools sharing, researching and moving forward in our understanding. This year our main line of inquiry is Reading, alongside pastoral care, as we know that being emotionally ready to learn is crucial for progression and attainment. Pupils’ lead pupils and our unique London Schools Excellence Fund Lead Writers scheme means that pupils are teaching key skills across their classes. This develops expertise within all abilities in writing and our children see themselves as authors. Pupils at Norbury love challenge in being ‘in the pit’ with their learning!
